On April 17, 2025, a working meeting of the Minister of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic E.M. Chechebaev with members of the Association of Directors of Medical Colleges of Kyrgyzstan was held in Bishkek. The meeting was also attended by the Director of the Tokmok Medical College, representatives of the financial department and the personnel department of the Ministry of Health.

The main topic of the meeting was the current state and prospects for the development of secondary medical education. The President of the Association spoke about the results achieved and noted the successful implementation of reforms. Particular attention was paid to the pilot program in the specialty "Nursing", which is being implemented in five colleges, as well as the final discussion of educational standards, which took place on April 16-17.

In addition, it was noted that five colleges are successfully running a program for training physiotherapist assistants, and one college is implementing programs in occupational therapy, training of an occupational therapist assistant and a bachelor's degree. This has become a unique experience for Kyrgyzstan.

The meeting also discussed the need to revise regulatory legal acts in the field of secondary medical education. The relevant proposals were sent to the ministry.

The college directors raised the issue of low salaries of teachers. Since 2022, salaries have not increased, on average, they amount to 8-9 thousand soms. This leads to staff turnover and a decrease in interest among young specialists.

Minister E.M. Chechebaev instructed the relevant departments to prepare documents on increasing salaries. The meeting participants noted the importance of developing the education system and expressed hope for a quick solution to the issues raised.
